Arrival in Cairo and reception by your tour guide. First night in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
Day 02: Cairo – Pyramids of Giza – Sphinx – Egyptian Museum – Khan el-Khalili Bazaar
Visit the Pyramids of Giza just outside of Cairo. After witnessing this impressive architecture, a visit to the Egyptian Museum is on the agenda, where numerous, extremely well-preserved mummies and other relics from the time of the pharaohs can be seen. Finally, visit the colorful Khan el-Khalili Bazaar , where haggling is a popular activity and the wonderful aroma of the Orient is infused. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 03: Cairo – Bahariyya
Your tour begins today in a comfortable minibus from Cairo to the Western Oases. At midday, you'll reach your first stop, the Bahariyya Oasis. After lunch, you'll visit the oasis and then continue by Land Rover into the Black Desert, which stretches approximately 30 km to the White Desert. The Black Desert is arguably one of the most unusual sand regions in the world. The landscape is characterized by volcanic-shaped, widely spaced dark hills composed of dolerite and other volcanic rocks. You'll spend the night in a simple oasis hotel in Bahariyya.
Day 04 : Bahariyya – Farafra
After breakfast, you'll climb into your Land Rover to marvel once again at the bizarre landscape of the Black Desert. You'll drive toward Agabat, the gateway between the Black and White Deserts. After magnificent sand dunes, the White Desert awaits you with its wonderful white limestone formations. You'll experience extraordinary desert scenery with its famous mushroom-shaped rock formations, created solely by the power of erosion. You'll then reach the Farafra Oasis, one of the smallest of Egypt's six oases. You'll spend the night in a simple oasis hotel in Farafra.
Day 05: Farafra – Dakhla
You'll leave the Farafra Oasis and travel by minibus to the Dakhla Oasis. This is one of the most beautiful oases in the Western Desert. Here, you'll visit an oasis town with its traditional mud-brick residential area and its old mosque. Explore the old oasis town with its narrow streets and labyrinths. Overnight in a simple oasis hotel in Dakhla.
Day 06: Dakhla – Kharga
Today's itinerary includes a visit to the Kharga Oasis. It is the southernmost and largest of the oases. The main town is extremely functional, with all modern facilities, which sets it apart from the other oases. You'll visit the Ibis Temple and the Christian graves of Bagawat, the oldest Christian cemetery. Overnight in a simple oasis hotel in Kharga.
Day 7: Kharga – Luxor
On the famous caravan route, you leave Kharga and travel south through the desert. From Baris, the dune landscape transforms into a breathtaking mountain landscape. Along serpentine roads with spectacular views, you pass the mountains that separate the western oases from the Valley of the Kings and the Nile. You reach Luxor in the afternoon. Overnight at a hotel in Luxor. Time for a stroll through the bazaar, a felucca rides, or a visit to the sound and light show at the Karnak Temple.
